Duality.

Serpentine patterns on glistening eyes

Whispering caresses from shadowless hands

Tell me something other than lies

Two sides of the wall is where it stands

Divided by its simple duality

Like all of us, we are split

Man and woman, child and adult

Most bury one side and celebrate the other

To become the light side, or exude the dark

All it takes is the urge to smother

The other side of myself

To let go of the duality of thought

I have two sides to me

The serpent

The saint

The sinner

The star

I shine my sins down

A rain that falls

Glistening serpentine patterns fill her eyes

Her hands work a subtle magic

She tells me only the truth

And in those words nature’s duality comes forth
